Description
This totebag is handmade from start to finish, the outer material is made from bicycle inner tubes that we recycle in our workshop by removing the valve, washing them thoroughly and cutting them lengthwise by hand to obtain strips of the width that allows us to weave them with linen on our looms. In this way, we obtain a flexible and resistant fabric through which rainwater runs off and that does not deteriorate if you lay it on the ground.
It has a large capacity, and we know that when this happens the bag ends up filling up, so it is designed to hang over the shoulder with a sturdy handle, which is inserted into the base and runs along the entire length, with a linen fabric finish and an embroidered strip of black and ivory satin that brings a small touch of color and great elegance.
It closes with a black zipper, and is lined with ivory satin from our vintage fabric collection that brings clarity to the interior when opened. It has a double black felt pocket and a built-in key ring.
And a note, when we work with rubber we do not discard the pieces that have inscriptions of the country of manufacture of the wheel and other records, in ink or relief, nor the patches with which they repaired the bumps they suffered, so if you find a “made in China”, “made in Taiwan”, do not be mistaken: the bag is designed, woven and made in Cambre, A Coruña, and the wheels have rolled, at least, on the paths and roads of Galicia in its previous life.
