Who are we?

We are Luisa Estévez and Óscar Montero, textile artisans and creators, and Belategui Regueiro is our brand of contemporary textile art. From our workshop, our favorite corner in the world, we combine technique, research and creativity. We have more than forty years of experience weaving on looms, and we still feel that tingling in our stomach.

We created Belategui Regueiro with the purpose of preserving a legacy, honoring the history of our mothers and transforming our experience into a language of our own. We not only create weavings on high and low-warp looms: we build pieces with an artistic, emotional and cultural sense. Our weavings, pieces, collections and textile works on demand are at the meeting point between craftsmanship, art and contemporary design.

Belategui Regueiro represents commitment, honesty and excellence. A way of doing that is based on years of craftsmanship, artistic sensitivity and a deep respect for the fabric understood as a means and language of expression.

Philosophy

Belategui Regueiro's identity is deeply connected to our way of working. Our values are more than a declaration of intentions. They reflect our way of seeing, living and understanding life and craftsmanship.

Belategui Regueiro's philosophy is based on dignifying weaving, spreading the textile knowledge and opening the way for new generations. Our work is craft, culture, sensitivity and we like to dream that we are sowing seeds for the future of textile craftsmanship.

Textile art

For Belategui Regueiro, textile art is a territory where matter takes on a voice of its own. Threads, fibers, tensions and textures become language: a way of thinking with the hands and feeling with the eyes.
Each piece is born from the dialogue between technique and emotion, tradition and contemporaneity.

Our work does not seek to reproduce what already exists, but to explore what textiles can become.

The loom is our tool, our space for contemplation of rhythm and discovery.
On it we weave ideas, memory and landscape, letting the materials - wool, linen, silk, rubber or alpaca - reveal their character and beauty.

Textile art, for us, is a way of inhabiting time: slow, conscious, deeply human.

Values

• Consistency and Sustainability: Every decision made reflects an honest way of working, without artifice: from the use of materials to transparency in every project. We began knitting because of our dream of dressing ourselves in our own creations.

- Confidence and Quality: We keep our promises and seek in each creation the technical rigor and final quality. We love knitting and every piece that leaves the workshop is a proof of that. We know that quality can be felt.

- Creativity and Experimentation: If we were not weavers we would be mad scientists and passionate. We love to research materials, techniques and ideas constantly. Curiosity gets the better of us.
